A young composer born and raised in northern Iceland aspires to tell stories cinematically through music. Influenced by the art of film scoring, she adeptly crafts emotive instrumental pieces inspired by her surroundings and personal experiences. Living midst the untouched nature and the open sea of Grenivík, a small fishing village in northern Iceland, provided abundant inspiration for the young composer and pianist.
Under the mentorship of the esteemed composer Atli Örvarsson, she honed her craft in film composition to the highest standard. Later she pursued advanced studies for one year at Berklee College of Music to refine her vocal abilities and jazz composition expertise.
Currently a film composer, singer, and songwriter, she actively seeks projects that inspire her and allow her to refine her musical storytelling skills further.
Some of her recent projects are also related to the Icelandic film industry. For example, she composed music for Kennarastofan, a comedy TV series that broadcasted on sjónvarp símans in early 2024. Additionally, she has provided the score for an Icelandic theater production titled Halastjarna (written by Kieran Knowles), as well as several short films.
